O come, let us sing before God: let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before God's presence with thanksgiving: let us shout for joy unto God with psalms. For God is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In God's hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the mountains are God's also. The sea is God's, and God made it; and God's hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before God our Maker. For God is our God, and we are the people of God's pasture, and the sheep of God's hand. Today, O that you would hearken to God's voice! Harden not your hearts as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness: when your fathers tried Me, and proved Me, although they had seen My work. (Reader) Forty years long was I wearied with that generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways. Wherefore I swear in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest.

Sing unto God, a new song: sing unto God, all the earth. Sing unto God, bless God's Name: proclaim God's salvation from day to day. Declare God's glory among the nations, God's wondrous works among all the peoples. For great is God, and exceedingly to be praised: God is to be revered above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are things of nought: but God made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before God: strength and beauty are in God's sanctuary. Ascribe unto God, you families of the peoples, ascribe unto God glory and strength. Give unto God the glory due unto God's Name: bring an offering and come into God's courts. Worship God in the beauty of holiness; tremble before God, all the earth. Say among the nations, God reigns : the world also is set firm that it cannot be moved: God shall judge the peoples with equity. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof; let the plain exult and all that is therein; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy, (Reader) before God, for God comes; for God comes to judge the earth: God will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples in God's faithfulness.

Adonai Malach Psalm 97

Adonai malach tageil ha-aretz, yism'chu iyim rabim. Anan va-arafel s'vivav, tzedek umishpat m'chon kiso. Eish l'fanav teileich', ut'laheit saviv tzarav. Heiiru v'rakav teiveil, ra-atah vatacheil ha-aretz. Harim kadonag namasu milifnei Adonai, milifnei adon kol ha-aretz. Higidu hashamayim tzidko, v'rau chol ha-amim k'vodo. Yeivoshu kol ov'dei fesel hamithal'lim ba-elilim, hishtachavu lo kol elohim. Sham'ah vatismach tziyon, vatageil'nah b'not y'hudah, l'ma-an mishpatecha Adonai. Simchu tzadikim b'Adonai, v'hodu l'zeicher kad'sho.

God reigns; let the earth be glad; let the many coast-lands rejoice. Clouds and darkness are round about God: righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne. A fire goes before God, and burns up God's adversaries round about. God's lightnings illuminate the world: the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before God, before God of the whole earth. The heavens declare God's righteousness, and all the peoples behold God's glory. Ashamed be all those that serve graven images, that make their boast of things of nought: bow down to God, all you gods. Zion heard and was glad, and the cities of Judah rejoiced, because of Your judgments, O God. For You, God, art most high above all the earth: You are exalted far above all gods. O you that love God, hate evil: God preserves the souls of God's loving ones; God delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. (Reader) Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in God, you righteous; and give thanks to God's holy Name.

Sing unto God a new song; for God has done marvelous things: God's right hand, and God's holy arm, has wrought salvation for God. God has made known God's salvation: God's righteousness God has revealed in the sight of the nations. God has remembered God's lovingkindness and God's faithfulness toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout for joy unto God, all the earth; break forth into exultation, and sing praises. Sing praises unto God with the harp; with the harp and the voice of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout for joy before the King, God. Let the sea roar and the fullness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands, let the mountains exult together, (Reader) before God, for God comes to judge the earth: God will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

God reigns; the peoples stand in awe: God is enthroned upon the cherubim; the earth is moved. God is great in Zion: and God is high above all the peoples. Let them give thanks to Your great and dreaded Name; holy is God. The Ruler’s strength also loves justice; You did establish equity; You have wrought justice and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt God our God, and worship at God’s temple: holy is God. Moses and Aaron among God’s priests, and Samuel among them that call upon God’s Name, called upon God, and God answered them. God spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept God’s testimonies, and the statute that God gave them. You did answer them, O God our God: a forgiving God You were unto them, though You did punish their misdeeds. (Reader) Exalt you God our God, and worship at God’s holy mount; for God our God is holy.

Ascribe unto God, O you sons of might, ascribe unto God glory and strength. Ascribe unto God the glory due unto God’s Name; worship God in the beauty of holiness. The voice of God is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders, even God upon the many waters. The voice of God is powerful; the voice of God is full of majesty. The voice of God breaks the cedars; yea, God breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. God makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox. The voice of God hews out flames of fire; the voice of God shakes the wilderness; God shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of God makes the hinds to calve, and strips the forests bare: and in God’s temple everything says, Glory.(Reader) God sat enthroned at the Flood; yea, God sits as King forever. God will give strength unto God’s people; God will bless God’s people with peace.

[We beseech you, release your captive nation by the mighty strength of your right hand. Accept the joyful chant of your people, lift and purify us, O revered God. O you mighty One, guard as the apple of the eye those that meditate upon your Unity. Bless them, purify them, have mercy upon them, ever bestow your charity unto them. O powerful and holy Being, in your abounding goodness lead your congregation. Turn, you who are the only and exalted God, unto your people, who are mindful of your holiness. Accept our prayer and hearken unto our cry, you that knows all secrets. Blessed be God’s Name, whose glorious kingdom is forever and ever.]

Come, my beloved, with chorus of praise,
Welcome Bride Sabbath, the Queen of the days.

"Keep and Remember"!—in One divine Word
God that is One, made God's will heard:
One is the name of God, One is God!
God's are the fame and the glory and praise!

Sabbath, to welcome you, joyous we haste;
Fountain of blessing from ever you were—
First in God’s planning, you fashioned the last,
Crown of God's handiwork, chiefest of days.

City of holiness, filled are the years;
Up from your overthrow! Forth from thy fears!
Long have you dwelt in the valley of tears,
Now shall God’s tenderness shepherd your ways.

Rise, O my folk, from the dust of the earth,
Garb you in raiment beseeming your worth;
Nigh draws the hour of the Bethlehemite’s birth,
Freedom who brings, and glorious days.

Wake and bestir you, for come is your light!
Up! With your shining, the world shall be bright;
Sing! For your God is revealed in God's might—
Yours is the splendor God's glory displays!

"Be not ashamed", says God, "nor distressed;
Fear not and doubt not. The people oppressed, Zion, My city, in you shall find rest—
You, that anew on your ruins I raise".

"Those that despoiled you shall plundered be,
Routed all those who showed no ruth;
God shall exult and rejoice in you,
Joyful as bridegroom with bride of youth".

Stretch out your borders to left and to right;
Fear but God, Whom to fear is delight—
The man, son of Perez, shall gladden our sight,
And we shall rejoice to the fullness of days.

Come in your joyousness, Crown of your God;
Come, bring peace to the folk of the Word;
Come where the faithful in gladsome accord,
Hail you as Sabbath-Bride, Queen of the days.

Come where the faithful are hymning your praise;
Come as a bride comes, Queen of the days!

It is a good thing to give thanks unto God, and to sing praises unto your Name, O Most High: to declare your lovingkindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night, with an instrument of ten strings and with a harp, with solemn music upon the lyre. For you, O God, have made me rejoice through your work: I will exult in the works of your hands. How great are your works, O God: your thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knows it not, neither does a fool understand this: when the wicked sprang up as the grass, and all the workers of iniquity flourished, it was that they might be destroyed forever. But you, O God, are on high forevermore. For, lo, your enemies, O God, for, lo, your enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. But my strength you have exalted, like that of the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil. My eye also has seen the defeat of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of those that rose up against me, doers of evil. (Reader) The righteous shall spring up like a palm-tree; he shall grow tall like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of God, they shall blossom in the courts of our God. They shall still shoot forth in old age; they shall be full of sap and green: to declare that God is upright; God is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in God.

God reigns; God is robed in majesty; God is robed, yes, God is girded with strength: the world also is set firm, that it cannot be moved. Your throne is set firm from of old: You are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O God, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. (Reader) Than the voices of many waters, mighty waters, breakers of the sea, more mighty is God on high. Your testimonies are very sure: holiness becomes Your house, O God, for evermore.

And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love God your God, and to serve God with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your corn, and your wine, and your oil. and I will give grass in your field for your cattle, and you shall eat and be satisfied. Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; and the anger of God be kindled against you, and God shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which God gives you. Therefore shall your lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. And you shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house, and upon your gates: that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, upon the land which God swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

I am God your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am God your God.

True and trustworthy is all this, and it is established with us that God is God our God, and there is none beside God, and that we, Israel, are God's people. It is God who redeemed us from the hand of kings, even our King, who delivered us from the grasp of all tyrants; the God, who on our behalf dealt out punishment to our adversaries, and requited all our mortal enemies; who does great things past finding out, yea, and wonders without number; who maintains us in life, and has not suffered our feet to slip; who made us overcome and conquer our enemies, and exalted our strength above all them that hated us; who wrought for us miracles and retribution upon Pharaoh, signs and wonders in the land of the children of Ham; who in wrath smote all the first-born of Egypt, and brought forth God's people Israel from among them to everlasting freedom; who made God's children pass through the divided Red Sea, but sank their pursuers and their enemies in its depths. (Reader) Then God's children beheld God's might; they praised and gave thanks unto God's Name, and willingly accepted God's sovereignty. Moses and the children of Israel sang a song unto you with great joy, saying, all of them:

Mi Chamochah מי כמכה

Who is like unto you, O God, among the mighty? Who is like unto you, glorious in holiness, revered in praises, doing wonders?

Your children beheld you sovereign power, as you did cleave the sea before Moses: they exclaimed, This is my God! and said, God shall reign for ever and ever.

(Reader) And it is said, For God has delivered Jacob and redeemed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Blessed are you, O God, the redeemer of Israel.

And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it, because God rested thereon from all the work which God had created and made.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before you, O God, my Rock and my Redeemer.

O my God! guard my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking guile; and to such as curse me let my soul be dumb, yea, let my soul be unto all as the dust. Open my heart to your Torah, and let my soul pursue thy commandments. If any design evil against me, speedily make their counsel of no effect, and frustrate their designs. Do it for the sake of your Name, do it for the sake of your power, do it for the sake of your holiness, do it for the sake of your Torah. In order that your beloved ones may be delivered, O save by your power, and answer me. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before your, O God, my Rock and my Redeemer. God who makes peace in high places, may Gpd make peace for us and for all Israel, and say ye, Amen.

May it be your will, Adonai our God and God of our ancestors , that the temple be speedily rebuilt in our days, and grant our portion in your Torah. And there we will serve your with awe, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto God, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years.

Reader and Congregation recite:
God with God's word was a shield to our ancestors, and by God's bidding will revive the dead; the holy God (on the Sabbath of Repentance say, “holy Sovereign”), like unto whom there is none; who gives rest to God's people on God's holy Sabbath day, because God took pleasure in them to grant them rest. God we will serve with fear and awe, and daily and constantly we will give thanks unto God's Name in the fitting forms of Blessings. God is the God to whom thanksgivings are due, the God of peace, who hallows the Sabbath and blesses the seventh day, and in holiness gives rest unto a people sated with delights, in remembrance of the creation.

Reader continues:
Our God and God of our ancestors, accept our rest; hallow us by your commandments and grant our portion in your Torah; satisfy us with your goodness, and gladden us with your salvation; purify our hearts to serve you in truth; and in your love and favor, O Adonai our God, let us inherit your holy Sabbath; and may Israel, who sanctify your name, rest thereon. Blessed are you, Adonai, who hallows the Sabbath.

It is our duty to praise the God of all things, to ascribe greatness to God who formed the world in the beginning; since God has not made us like the nations of other lands, and has not placed us like other families of the earth; since God has not assigned unto us a portion as unto them, nor a lot as unto all their multitude. For we bend the knee and offer worship and thanks before the supreme Sovereign of rulers, the Holy One, blessed be God, who stretched forth the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, the seat of whose glory is in the heavens above, and the abode of whose might is in the loftiest heights. God is our God; there is none else: in truth God is our Sovereign; there is none besides God; as it is written in the Torah, And you shall know this day, and lay it to your heart, that Adonai is God in heaven above and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

We therefore hope in you, Adonai our God, that we may speedily behold the glory of your might; when you will remove the abominations from the earth, and heathendom will be utterly destroyed; when the world will be perfected under the kingdom of the Almighty, and all the children of flesh will call upon your Name; when you will turn unto yourself all the evil-doers upon earth. Let all the inhabitants of the world perceive and know that unto you every knee must bow, every tongue must swear allegiance. Before you, Adonai our God, let them bow and worship; and unto your glorious Name let them give honor; let them all accept the yoke of your kingdom, and do you reign over them speedily, and for ever and ever. For the kingdom is yours, and to all eternity you will reign in glory; as it is written in your Torah, "God shall reign for ever and ever." And it is said, "And God shall be Sovereign over all the earth; in that day shall God be One and God's Name One."

Closing Songs

Yigdal

The living God we praise, exalt, adore!
God was, God is, God will be evermore!
No unity like unto God's can be:
Eternal, inconceivable is God.
No form, or shape has the incorporeal One,
Most holy God, past all comparison.
God was, before anything was made in heaven, or earth,
But God's existence has no date, or birth.
Ruler of the Universe is God proclaimed,
Teaching God's power to all God's hand has framed.
God gave God's gift of prophecy to those
In whom God gloried, whom God loved and chose.
No prophet ever yet has filled the place
Of Moses, who beheld God face to face.
Through him (the faithful in God's house) God
The law of truth to Israel did accord.
This law God will not alter, will not change
For any other through time’s utmost range.
God knows and heeds the secret thoughts of mankind:
God saw the end of all before anything began.
With love and grace God blesses the righteous,
God metes out evil unto wickedness.
God at the last will God anointed send,
Those to redeem, who hope, and wait the end.
God will the dead to life again restore.
Praised be God's glorious Name for evermore!
