By choosing a traditional service, you are opting for a service that often includes more prayers. While you still have the opportunity to make this service your own, there will be fewer places where you will be able to add in personal content. Some of the prayers will also be slightly different than those in the pluralistic services. For instance, in a traditional service, every psalm used for the Kabbalat Shabbat portion of Friday Evening Services is included. The traditional service on Build a Prayer may be different from other traditional services you have experienced previously. The differences among services in Judaism speak to the richness of variety in our traditions. We invite you to explore this site and other resources, like prayer books, to continue your education around Shabbat.
